Morality is the Black Dove nestled in the boughs of our evolving neural network. Morality is the median nesting area within the neurological tree structure. A location towards the center but perhaps a bit higher than dead center. Probably a location adhering to the Golden Ratio, AKA the Fibonacci Series. Too high and we are in the cold regions of reason. Too low and its the boiling world of reptilian aggression and sexual lust. This puts morality mostly within the region and effects of our mammalian brain.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13266757685674405297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31383424.post-27382790904746984452011-05-29T10:24:51.622-06:002011-05-29T10:24:51.622-06:00Oddly, I agree with you almost completely Randy. T...Oddly, I agree with you almost completely Randy. The problem with religion, as I see it, is two-fold:

1) The belief that we are separate from God/The Divine/Her.

2) The Rules that arise from this false separation.

The Rules (#2) came about to help people interact with each other and the perceived "other" god. This includes atheism and agnosticism---you still need Rules to guide your actions with others.

But since the Rules are based on a false foundation (see #1), they are doomed, like a crumbling dike, to fail under pressure. This is where all the conflict comes from, the Rules don't hold up to the stresses of Reality.

Separation is only in the mind (#1). Once this is realized (not just mentally, but at our core), we don't need #2.

Good post my friend.Wayne (Wirs)http://WayneWirs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31383424.post-21567278177674422592011-05-29T10:18:08.512-06:002011-05-29T10:18:08.512-06:00The perfect blog! The church predicting the recent rapture made millions! Money, greed and power drive today’s organized religions. I recommend individualized prayer and meditation to get closer to God.
Hugs,
GracieGracehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/24760138@N08/noreply@blogger.com
